The Process

Step One: Choosing Style and Subject Matter

Choosing a style of painting or subject area for your commission does not have to entail a portrait of your departed loved one; the artistic rendition can depict any subject that delights you or brings back memories. Ultimately, it should be something you enjoy and would love to have in your home.

Upon deciding what type of artwork you would like, send us photos of your loved one and reference paintings to help us capture the style you want. You can send these photos to orders@beauty-iv-ashes.co.za or upload them directly on the "Our Process" page of the website.

Step Two: Finalising your order & Payment

We will contact you in order to discuss the size and budget of the painting before sending an invoice for the payment. 

We will work with any budget, but on average, an A4 painting will cost between R500 and R800, depending on the complexity of the piece. 

NB: Framing can also be arranged at an additional cost. 

Step Three: Ash collection

Place two teaspoons of ash in two small zip-loc style bags (one inside the other), then place the bags inside an envelope marked with your name, contact information, and order number. 

The package can be delivered by hand or couriered to our address in Centurion. Alternatively, if you live in Gauteng, we can have them collected directly from you (R50 delivery fee). If you are located in a remote area, we recommend the Courier Guy - Door to Door. We accept deliveries between 8:00-16:00 Monday through Friday. Weekends by special arrangement. 

In general, the time it takes to produce the piece ranges from 4-6 weeks, but it depends on its size. You will be kept informed of the progress throughout.
